In the summer of 2007, Michael Matas decided to share his passion of music and hard work by means of the North Calgary School of Music. As a piano and music theory teacher of several years in the city of Calgary, Mr. Matas has been able to observe the different teaching styles of various teachers and schools.
By constant collaboration with fellow Clarion Music Network schools, Mr. Matas and his colleagues strive to teach students in the most effective ways possible, to better them as individuals. Music is an excellent medium in which to promote one’s well being.
A native of Calgary, Mr. Matas is a Registered Music Teacher and member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association.
North Calgary School of Music was established in 2007. The desire of this venture is to provide efficient and effective musical education to individuals wanting to gain a strong musical foundation by means of their chosen instrument. We cater to the students desires, but also motivate the students to exceed their current capacities and progress more than they ever thought they could.
Time is a scarce resource. Our desire is to enable students to acquire their desired level of musical understanding and performance as effectively and efficiently as possible. In this way, students truly feel the “fruits of their toil” and reap the rewards of hard work. Further, an established level of discipline affects all aspects of the students’ lives in a positive manner.
