What Is The Clarion Music Network?

The Clarion Music Network is a network of Calgary-area music schools and their students. The idea behind Clarion is a simple one: Give students access to the best teachers and the best musical education at a reasonable cost.

The Clarion Music Network offers referrals to qualified, local teachers and schools in your area of interest. Further, the Network ensures that you can connect with other students in your area – whether helping each other practice, going to concerts, or forming ensembles, being a member of the Clarion Network means you’ve got the support of dozens of teachers and hundreds of fellow students.

The most important attribute that Clarion brings to the table is honesty. The sad truth is that many schools offer overpriced lessons with unqualified and inexperienced teachers. We believe that it takes more than a fancy logo or self-important name to make a school truly exceptional – and our member studios are committed to offering access to the best teachers, and the best education, at a reasonable and justifiable cost. We will NEVER make any adjustments to cost, lesson time or teacher without full explanation and justification. Your satisfaction is our agenda!

What Brings The Studios of Clarion Together?

Dulcet Melodies, North Calgary School of Music and South Calgary School of Music are all run by people who are first and foremost TEACHERS of music. They share the belief that a musical education should be available to all people, and that value is of paramount importance to the person who pays for that education. As active teachers ourselves, we strongly believe that you deserve, and should expect, the best quality in instruction and access to your teacher – no middle man, no receptionist to dodge. If you have questions of your child’s teacher in grade school, you simply call the teacher and ASK them. This type of access is, unfortunately, not the norm for music studios. We feel it should be.

Lastly, we have committed ourselves to the pursuit of co-operatively offering students access to the best musical education, no matter where in the city they live or what instrument they wish to learn. Instead of undercutting each other, hiring under-qualified teachers and paying them low wages that results in high turn-over, and a constant parade of new faces in your lesson, we believe it is wiser to benefit from each other’s strengths and shared goals for the betterment of our students. THAT is what we are paid to do, and we believe parents and students should expect nothing less from any music studio.

Why Should I Consider Lessons Through The Clarion Music Network?

Studios in the Clarion Music Network are committed to providing you with the best education and the best teachers available. The first thing you’ll notice when you contact a Clarion school is that the focus isn’t on getting you to sign up, but rather on finding you the right teacher – even if that teacher is with another Clarion school! Once we’ve found the right match for your needs, our fee structure will be explained to you. All Clarion schools operate under what we call Clarion Consistency Pricing – your lessons at one school will cost the same as at another. In this way, you can be sure that you’re getting the best teacher available, and that your teacher won’t be leaving next month because another school offered them more money. Our teachers will be reimbursed fairly based on education and experience, and will teach because they love teaching – no student teachers or frustrated performers here.

The Members of the Clarion Music Network have put our collective heads together to develop new and innovative teaching methods and strategies to enhance the learning experience. Our methods build on the solid foundations of the classical masters and add modern techniques to help achieve the level of skill and mastery desired by the student. If you have the will, we will certainly give you a way!

The Clarion Music Network also offers you a chance to connect with other students in the system! To make contact with students going through the same drills and skills, learning the same repertoire… you get a chance to socialize with your fellow Grade 4 students, why shouldn’t you socialize with your fellow Flute students as well? Whether you’re a senior student offering some guidance, a first-year student looking for advice, a beginner piano student wanting to become a virtuoso or a student drummer looking for a guitarist who’s into Zeppelin and the White Stripes, there’s room for all of our students in the Clarion Network.
