Instruments Taught

Piano

The demand to learn the art of playing the piano has been high ever since it’s creation in the early 1700s. All 88 keys of the instrument comprise a vast range of tones available to the artist. The sophistication of controlling such rich sound with all fingers is what draws many to the instrument. It has been described as “an orchestra at the fingertips”. Our lessons center on the traditional style of learning, where theory and technique are emphasized. Once these foundations are established, everything else falls into place.

Voice

With the creation of such shows as Canadian Idol, more and more people have come to appreciate a well–trained voice. Like learning a new instrument, one must learn to develop their voice and work to master control over it. Only through careful guidance and mentoring can this be properly carried through. The vocal teachers in our Network are experienced in developing individuals’ voices to enjoy the world of song, whatever the style may be.

Flute

Perhaps one of the oldest instruments ever created, the Flute has developed into a sophisticated, fine–tuned piece of art. A fine flautist will carry their listeners to “other worlds” with their masterful playing. Many details go into developing masterful playing. This is the priority of the Flautists collaborating with our School.

Horn

It seems that only in school bands are individuals acquainted with the Horn and its family members. Unfortunately this education in the public school system is quite limited. It therefore has become a part of our curriculum, to provide individuals with more opportunity to advance in their quest to produce masterful sound quality with such powerful instruments.

Guitar

The Guitar can be heard in a wide variety of genres, including Rock, Flamenco, Classical and more. Virtuosic and masterful playing can be heard in all genres. With the right technique, the aspiring guitarist can take their playing to a whole new level. Our experienced and dedicated teachers have a passion for playing in the most effective and masterful ways possible.

Violin

A major part of any orchestra, the violin and viola are beautifully sounding instruments when played by individuals with proper technical training and experience. Teaching our students proper methods in learning to make their instruments “sing” is of utmost importance. Striving for top quality sound and producing it is such a rewarding experience.

Conducting

Flailing arms, flying hair and beads of sweat. It seems conductors have their work cut out for them. Conducting is a difficult task, which requires much training, mentoring and experience. It’s no wonder that after years of masterful playing will an instrumentalist take up the baton to lead an orchestra. Our school strives to engage students to perform in group settings, allowing for the creation of ensembles and conducting opportunities.
